Saying Goodbye to Catherine Cornall - Thank you for Everything!

The annual meeting of BBTA tutors was held in Chester in April and as ever it proved a stimulating and productive three days with a mixture of tutors education and development of educational materials and plans for future courses.

This meeting was also marked by us saying a fond farewell to our friend and colleague Catherine Cornall who was retiring from BBTA and IBITA after many years of dedicated and distinguished service. Catherine qualified as a Bobath tutor in 2002 and has been the epitome of dedication and commitment during her teaching career. Indeed this has included two stints as Chair of BBTA along with service on numerous IBITA committees including most recently the Executive committee.

Always extremely humble about her contribution Catherine has demonstrated outstanding leadership within the group and her considered opinions and wise counsel always command attention. However her undoubted ability to influence and guide others (to make good decisions!) is always done with her incomparable kindness, grace and humour. Above all however Catherine has been an outstanding clinician and educator both within BBTA and IBITA and also in her ‘day job’ at the National Rehabilitation Hospital for Ireland. There are countless therapists and patients who have benefited greatly from Catherine’s knowledge, kindness and care.

Catherine, we will miss your dedication, wisdom and humour but we wish you the happiest and healthiest of retirements. Thank you for your amazing contribution!
