Considering being a Bobath Tutor?

Do you have a passion for clinical practice and teaching?  

 

Are you a physiotherapist or occupational therapist who might be interested in becoming a Bobath Instructor?

 

Have you been on a Bobath course, are you interested in taking it further??  

 

BBTA is part of IBITA (International Bobath Instructor Training Association), which is the international organization of Instructors, teaching the Bobath concept. Our mission is to provide a diverse range of high impact educational opportunities in adult neurological rehabilitation delivered within the UK and worldwide by a professional, knowledgeable, expert clinical teaching team. Courses are delivered in a clinical context, usually involving direct patient contact to guide effective practice.  We seek to develop the continuing application of the Bobath concept using evidence informed practice to optimize functional outcomes for adults with neurological conditions.

To participate in the Instructor-Training programme you must have completed:

·     A Basic Course on "The Assessment and Treatment of Adults with Neurological Conditions - The Bobath concept".

·     Two Advanced Courses.

 

Training involves assisting and co-instructing with an IBITA-recognized instructor on a minimum of three Basic Bobath Courses, developing a portfolio to demonstrate knowledge-based skills and work you have undertaken towards qualification. There will be a minimum of six months between each assistantship and you must be a practicing clinician completing a minimum of 600 clinical hours per year. Learning and development will be further facilitated via attendance on Instructor-Training modules, two of which are compulsory IBITA Instructor-Training modules, Advanced Bobath Courses and clinical placements. 

 

Ongoing mentorship and peer support will be providedthroughout the training process in a variety of ways and under the direction of BBTA.
