Look out for our fantastic new website, going live in July. Giving you better access to the latest news, research, articles and learning
Linking the patients impairments together with the goals that they needed to achieve was like a lightbulb going off in my head! I really found it so helpful to identify WHY they couldn’t get from sit to stand, and to CHANGE their impairments, through handling, and then practice the better pattern – this made such a difference with the patient demonstration – so now I know how to do better practice with my patients – thank you so much!
Good group size allowed Clare to spend time with all of us Significantly increased the structure to my assessment treatment and clinical reasoning for my neuron, in fact all my patients – made me think more of how the physiological and anatomically dysfunction influence on patients presentation
I am not currently working with neuro pts in my rotation but the analysis and handling skills that I have learned will help me with all my patients I really enjoyed tutor supervision and peer discussion, excellent sessions and the pt demonstrations really brought together information from the lecture and practical sessions
Very clinically relevant throughtout Clare was available at all times and would increase or decrease time for practical as necessary The lectures were fantastic through out the courses and very approachable and adaptable to the variations and experiences of people in the room
It is always nice to see handling done and explained on the background of previous learning I liked the specific handling of the foot – Good to work on selective dissociated movement during this transfer and see the importance of preceding movements I love the innovative ways of working with ataxic people and this took previous ideas and progressed them further
Learned a lot – absolutely fantastic – thankyou – I am going to use it in my clinical practice asap The patient workshop was really good – highlight of the course – it amazes me the way Bobath tutors assess & observe patient – it really gives good example to take home – very good I really enjoyed it. Very good clinical applicatios that encourage function – I really enjoyed this module
Opportunities throughout all teaching to bring in examples of practice we can influence with each specific point. Excellent supervision prompting and demonstration of improving technique throughout whole session Clinical reasoning shown throughout demonstration to enable participants to follow through problem – goal – treatment – result Lots of new ideas of treatment techniques, increased understanding of evidence base and physiology behind treatment techniques
Good tutor input in both small groups and feeding back to the larger group with examples Good amount of time to explore the complex movement of sit – ly Excellent session – good principles explored with lots of revisiting other aspects of the course within the pt demo Great opportunities to analyse and then discuss as a group Very interesting will change my approach very useful Great to see floor work and then carry over of this into locomotion
Very informative, confirmed knowledge from pre-reading and related to clinical practice Good opportunity for assessment / analysis. Points of this became deeper following day when doing UL work. Good discussion afterwards to clarify points. Excellent explanations of facilitating crook lying and aligning position – handling makes so much more sense now! Pt workshop – really interesting seeing results of input so dramatically. Really informative and clear so hopefully easy to transefer to clinical practice
Helped to relate positioning and postural control to my own workload in medical and elderly care – really helpful to relate practical sessions to real live patients – How specific manual handling can help engage and initiate functional movement patterns rather than relying on passive techniques. Also appreciation of dissociation of joints.
I found the course extrememly interesting. I particularly engaged the patient demonstrations and practical component. Course tutor was extremely approachable and provided assistance whenever required during practical sessions The patient demonstrations provided lots of clinical skills and ideas which can be transferred into my current clinical practice
Very well explained – all increasingly difficult topics were run through very well. Practical pt demonstration as it really allowed to see how to put learning into practice. Increased confidence and improved manual handling with scapula setting (sometimes less is more) – the ability to use supine as a treatment position.
The patients who volunteered to be models were very appropriate and enabled what we had worked on over the weekend to be put into context. The importance of summating an activity and not being to quick to rush straight into the focus of the treatment session eg reaching without preparing scapula etc. Food was fantastic!
There was a good amount of independent hands on and also bringing everyone together as a group – a really good weekend and the lecture really linked with practical and practical with the pt demonstrations –good follow on from last weekend module – Great ideas for treatment , foot factilitation into active crook lying, and hand / finger work for active triceps.
